School Commitments

For a school to become part of the network they need to:

  • Be committed to fostering inclusive education.

  • Have capacity and willingness to host students on up to 2-week offsite directives in an alternative learning environment (REFLECT).

  • Commit to hosting and delivering the REFRESH program (Y7 to 9) for students from other schools in the network (6-week intervention, 3 hours per week delivery of the Behaviour & Me intervention, students integrated into lessons).

  • Give consideration (when asked by a network school) to accepting students on a permanent Managed Move or dual register (Y11 only) following a serious one-off incident to reduce permanent exclusions (RESTART).

  • Have 2 key named contacts, responsible for OSD, who are able to make quick decisions relating to requests from other schools (aim to respond with 24 hours).

  • Attend all network sessions (or send deputies) to share good practice, resources, ideas and training.

  • Engage in reciprocal peer reviews of other schools in the network.

  • Share any relevant digital resources via the online Network Hub.

  • Work collaboratively to support each other in developing inclusive practice.

These commitments are to be reviewed on an annual basis and all schools involved will be asked to recommit to the above in July for the following academic year.
