Inclusion Leaders 

Working across the Compass school network

Key Responsibilities:

​​

  • Design targeted intervention programmes: Working with network schools to highlight and respond to the current needs of our students, the Inclusion leads are responsible for developing targeted intervention programmes that proactively support inclusion.   In line with Recommendation 5 from the EEF’s Improving Behaviour in Schools guidance, these programmes provide a structured, evidence-informed approach for students who require additional support beyond universal strategies.

  • Deliver intervention programmes: The Inclusion Leaders will deliver a range of targeted intervention programmes designed to support students with specific challenges or areas for development. These small-group, school-based interventions run over six weeks and focus on key topics such as behaviour, emotional regulation, relationships, and decision-making.

​

  • Deliver one-to-one mentoring: The leads will provide mentoring to students to support them in improving their behaviour, engagement, and well-being.

​

  • Work with students who need additional support: The leads will work with students who need additional support, including those in alternative learning environments, to help restore relationships and reintegrate them into normal lessons.

​

  • Support students with a diverse range of additional needs: The leads will support students with a diverse range of additional needs, including those displaying relationship-seeking behaviours.

​

  • Work in partnership with other schools: The leads will work in partnership with other schools to support students accessing off-site directive provision.

​

  • Support for reducing suspensions and permanent exclusions: The leads will support schools in their efforts to reduce suspensions and permanent exclusions.​

​

  • Work closely with school staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies: The leads will work closely with school staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to provide coordinated support for students and families.

  • Foster inclusive behaviour approaches: The leads will foster inclusive behaviour approaches through collaboration and innovation across the Compass network.

​

  • Work to improve attendance and punctuality: The leads will work to improve attendance and punctuality, recognising the link between attendance, behaviour, and student well-being.

​

  • Support the re-integration of excluded pupils or those following an alternative timetable: The leads will support the re-integration of excluded pupils or those following an alternative timetable.

​

  • Support the development of resources and strategies to promote positive behaviour: The leads will support the development of resources and strategies to promote positive behaviour across the Compass network.​​
